OKLAHOMA CITY - A lawsuit has been filed by the Retail Liquor Association of Oklahoma ( RLAO) requesting an injunction of a ballot measure that is set to take effect in 2018. State Question 792 was passed in November and would change the state's law in relation to wine and cold beer sales.
This ballot initiative allows grocery stores and super-centers to sell wine and cold beer up to 14% alcohol by volume. As it stands now only liquor stores can sell wine and strong beers. The RLAO contends that there are "hidden provisions" in State Question 792 and as stated on their web site "are detrimental to the Oklahoma consumer, locally-owned businesses and our state in general.". To learn more about what the RLAO has to say about the legislation you can visit their web site here: http://rlao.org/legislation.html
