WAGONMASTER'S DOWNTOWN CHILI COOKOFF
Saturday, September 24, 2016 - Public tasting begins at 12 noon

In September, the 25+-year-old Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff brings out the zany and the serious competitors as over 50 teams and 9,000 spectators gather to regale the spicy concoction. The 600 block of Douglas Avenue is closed to create a street party atmosphere, complete with live music. As an official International Chili Society event, a variety of chili dishes are offered according to the society's entry criteria. The Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff is held in the 600 block of East Douglas Street. That is Douglas Street between St. Francis and the railroad tracks.

Getting there from North or South: Take I-135 to Hwy 54/400/Kellogg Ave and take Kellogg to the west. Take the first exit on Kellogg which is Washington Ave. Turn right (North) on Washington. At the second light, turn west on Douglas Ave.

Getting there from East or West: Take Hwy 54/400/Kellogg Ave to the Washington Ave exit. Turn right (North) on Washington.
